It's interesting that they never talks about the impact of people having lawns and swimming pools in Southern California.

Here's my pet peeve. How much gas is wasted each year cutting the grass along America's highways?
It's totally unnecessary. A native turf grass called Buffalo grass was once prevalent on the great plains. It is similar to Zoysa in that it grows sideways not up so it doesn't need cutting and is hardy enough to grow in Northern climates.
Seems green to me, getting the tractors and mowers off the highways would save lives and gas.
