AEW Wednesday Night Dynamite Thread: Grand Slam Edition

AEW Wednesday Night Dynamite... the seemingly annual Grand Slam episode... comes from Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, N.Y.
The AEW World Championship in on the line as MJF defends his title in his home state against the ROH World Television Champion Samoa Joe. This is not title-for-title as Joe's ROH TV Title is not on the line here
A match that is title-for-title sees ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli and NJPW Strong Openweight Champion Eddie Kingston battle it out to see who ends the night with both titles. This is a feud that's been going on in the indies since before Claudio Castagnoli was temporarily named Antonio Cesaro
The only match on tonight's card without a championship being defended sees the Inner Circle/JAS buddies go at it head-to-head as "The Ocho" Chris Jericho takes on "The Spanish God" Sammy Guevara
AEW Women's World Champion Saraya puts her championship on the line against her Outcasts friend and potential psychiatric patient Toni Storm
And the AEW International Championship is on the line as Jon Moxley defends against the man he took out of the Stadium Stampede match in at All In before they boarded the plane to head to London... Rey Fenix

A lot of people are thinking Mercedes may show up tonight. Don't know if she's able to wrestle yet but WrestleDream would be a good place for a comeback match since its a cross promotion with NJPW.

I can see it... this is the biggest Dynamite annually and a good place for a debut to set up her 1st program even if she isn't able to get physical yet

Mercedes was set to win the match... but they made the change on the fly after she broke her ankle to put Willow over and give her the chance to have some kind of reign as the 1st champion instead of the 1st champ having to immediately vacate the belt... a la Finn Balor and the WWE Universal Championship
I believe the injury was self-inflicted by Mercedes coming off the top rope and nothing Willow did to cause the injury
