I liked what I saw from the Tigers with Victor

Apart from the free throws, LSU looked like a different team on the defensive side. Yes, after the game was in hand, they played loosey goosey and did some stupid shite.....but....before then, the aggression they showed on the defensive side of the ball was 2000% better. Like a different team better. Victor looks solid down low, and if we had the hustle and the added size with Victor, we'd have beaten Charleston and done what we should have done. I was pleased with Victor's debut....and if he can learn to shoot a free throw, I see a lot of potential. Now I'll duck!!!

They played okay in the first half.
Street ball seems to be the default though, and I was disappointed to see the team revert to that in the second half and almost let an awful team back into the game.
Free throw shooting doomed us against NC State in the tournament last year, has cost us two games this year (along with shite defense and rebounding), and will cost several more before the season is over.
When I was in high school, our coach wouldn't let anyone leave practice until someone hit 10 straight free throws. As a result, we were better from the free throw line than this year's LSU team. Sad....

I didn't watch the game. 1-10 free throws? WTF is that?

Yep 1/10. That's completely unacceptable.

In fairness, Victor was very good in every other phase of the game. He actually boxes out, got at least one, maybe two offensive rebounds, and attempted to position himself to take a charge on defense.
He played tough and physical, and his play seemed to be contagious - at least for Epps. Epps seemed to feed off of Victor's energy and had his best rebounding game of his career.
1-10 is inexcusable though.

Watching him against oral Roberts will be a much better test. Oral Roberts is pretty competitive with in their conference each year, plus they flirt with the tournament consistently and made it not to long ago

Was that reboul that did the 10 Ina row in high school or someone else?
Basketball fundamentals seem like a dirty word at LSU !

The fact that they played loosey goosey in the second was disheartening. If the team was finally going to man up and give it 100% all the time to show people they are for real, that wouldn't have happened. But nope. They slacked off. Again. G Webb just happens to be God Awful. We open league play against Vandy and KY. If we win the next 3 until then, I MIGHT get hopeful about their attitudes changing. But right now, I just don't see that happening. This team isn't even an NIT squad, and even if they make it to the NIT, that's not good enough. Not with this talent. JJ is coaching for his job, and maybe for Alleva's as well. Ol' Joe isn't looking that hot right now. Our men's program's haven't done shite lately. Even baseball, while the records have been good, has been disappointing.

This team is going to get slaughtered in the SEC if something does not change quickly.
