Portal- Off vs Def?

14 total last year. 5 offensive players including the QB, 7 defensive guys and 2 special teamers.
This yr thus far has 10 total. Only 1 offensive WR. The other 9 are defense with the staff hunting for more at the ILB position.
Any thoughts on this?

The offense returns all of its starters, except for Boutte. The defense does not. It's really not that difficult of a concept to understand.

Looks like they are recruiting based on need and depth.

This. What else is there to say? They bringing in a great recruiting class that will hopefully help cull it down. The guys they got in the portal are basically 1 year rentals.
The secondary got wiped out but they brought in some very talented players in the secondary. Chestnut was one of the highest graded CBs in ACC 2 years in a row. Harris was one of the highest graded CBs in the country before he got suspended at TAMU. Johnson needs to add weight but his physical ability is gifted. Alexander was an All-American but can he translate to the SEC level? Lots of talent there. DL has some excellent depth in Shand/Jefferson who would probably start on most teams.
