What irregularities? We would have 9 conference games and 3 OOC games. It is no more difficult to schedule 9 conference games than it is to schedule 8.

Not having the same number of home/road games is the issue. If you're going head to head with someone to win a division, you already have the possibility of drawing tougher opponents from the opposite division. Then it would also be possible for you to get stuck with 5 conference road games while the other school with the better draw also happens to get 5 games at home on top of it.

Not really to much diffrent than LSU playing Florida every year and Ole Miss getting Vandy and Miss St getting Kentucky. It all works out in the end.

If we stick to 8 games, we may not play all the other division's teams every 6 years. Normally, conferences have teams play for two years in a row (home and home series). This means you only play them twice every 12 years. Traditionally in the SEC (before 1992), there were teams you rarely played. For example, LSU-Auburn rarely played, sometimes wouldnt play for a decade or more.

And the fact that you used an example of Vandy being up and us down just destroyed the whole post.
The extreme and absurd was kinda the point.
