I just posted this on the Recruiting Board but thought it may be of interest here, especially considering related posts on the subject that already exist.
quote:

"Certainly, we would think the Texas student-athletes will have an opportunity to see themselves attending SEC schools," LSU coach Les Miles said, "and hopefully this would give us an opportunity to be even more serious about those guys."

The SEC is already in Texas, LSU especially.

It could help. The state as a whole will likely embrace the SEC identity because of the A&M nexus.

I can see a lot of bama, florida, and lsu tshirt fans popping up over the next several years, especially before A&M has a chance to get on its feet in the SEC.

Especially LSU. I think we're already getting the best reception of other SEC teams including Arkansas. We will own Texas.

Texas and OU will always get the cream, don't kid yourself. The dfw area has all but been locked down by OU. Why would that change?
