What's in it for the Schools?

I understand why the conferences want to expand, but what about the schools? Why would Texas, for example, leave the top of the heap in the Big 12 and move to the Pac 10, especially if all the other big boys in the big 12 go too? Makes for a great conference, but what's in it for the school?

Well, for Texas, it's hard to be top of the heap if there is no heap.

Yeah.

It would just seem like a conf of 16 would have to make an incredible amount of money to make splitting the pot more profitable than over a 12 team conf. I guess that's the case though. Lord knows the schools aren't moving for fun.
