IMO, UT is not in a desperate situation. We are talking about a school that is doing some ground breaking stuff, for a single institution. If LSU or any other university had ESPN come and offer this type of a deal for tier 3 rights, it would be very hard to decline. I think that if UT wanted to join a given conference they would have made concessions. Why come over here and grind through the SEC .b when you have an easier avenue to get to the NC game, staying in place. As much emotion and energy that is coming from Norman, I can bet on the fact that cooler heads are going to prevail, an OU will see the light. They are better off where the are at. Its about winning championships!!!

think having to keep OSU would be worse than losing them

The presidents of both schools are interested in what is best for the state of Oklahoma. What is best for the state of Oklahoma is both schools sticking together.

They'd have to start scheduling all the service academies, get their own network deal, and then have everybody make special exceptions just for them.

Well, I guess they only need the service academies thing now...

How is it best for both schools to stick together? If it is about the rivalry game, it can still be played as an OOC.
