Oh puhleeze, what did Texas do to ruin the conference? Texas is still there. Are you saying LSU (or any other school, aggy included) would have turned down $300MM if offered for your 3rd tier rights? And if you say no, you're lying or could get more than that. Maybe the latter.

Not a damn one of the schools that left or are leaving left because of the LHN. I don't really care. It doesn't impact me one way or the other. I like LSU and I like Texas. Split personality I guess. I'll be pulling for LSU Sat. night and not because Ala. beat Texas for the MNC. I think it's your year.

people who think Texas is the good guy:

Texas fans

Baylor fans

.....who else?

In all seriousness though, A&M was inches from going to the SEC before the LHN ever existed. So don't flatter yourself too much by assuming that "aggy" is leaving because they are "jealous".

It seemed to be the reason for Texas A&M but I wont speak for them as I don't know.

As for Missouri it's about trusting the stability.

Mr. Powers of Texas according to reports was rumored to be talking to Larry Scott of the then Pac 10 about joining them and taking 5 Big 12 Universities with them in the fall of 2009. That was before the Big 10 even mentioned they were going to study expansion in December of 2009. According to Mr. Lofton he told Larry Scott that Texas thought he was going to allow them to start the LHN in the Pac 16 and Scott said no and that's why the deal fell apart.

But as a Missouri fan what we don't understand is why in September this year after Texas A&M announced they were leaving the sentiment was to still stay together. But yet OU,OSU,TT and Texas used it try and run to the Pac 12 again only to be turned down on September 20th.

When they did come back why won't Texas commit to more than a 6 year grant of TV rights? Why must the conference stay at 10 members according to Texas? As an MU fan I question if Texas really wants to be in the Big 12. So the move isn't because of the LHN for Missouri, it is more a thing where we don't trust that Texas doesn't want the Pac 12 more than the Big 12 and it's inevitable that's what happens.

My wish is that I do hope the Big 12 lasts for the sakes of KU,KSU,ISU and the new members WVU and TCU. Don't get me wrong I'm glad MU is leaving but for the sakes of those teams I mentioned I hope it all works out.

You've posted this diddy twice now. Enough. Texas did NOT attempt to run to the Pac12. UT officials flew to OU and tried to make them commit to the Big 12 but Boren explored with Pac12, not UT. Pac12 turned them down without UT. Fact.

But I do agree with Rex. ESPN ruined college football with the $300 million to one university that needed more cash like Apple. I have never understood the principal of being in a conference where all members aren't equal.

I welcome the aggs. We need a punching bag. We're wearing out MSU. That said, I wished we were still at 12 members and played aggs every year as non-conference opener.

Mizzouri...yuck.

Were talking about summer 2010....they DID attempt to go to the Pac.

They stayed in the Big 12 this time around solely because they can do whatever they want with the LHN. They did not stay because they care about student athletes and rivalries. Give me a break.

Really? OU may have started it but by the end Texas was in negotiations also. Try typing in OU,OSU,TT and Texas to the Pac 12.

Here's a quote from the first source ESPN college sports: Updated: September 19, 2011, 2:12 PM ET
The ACC might not be the only big-name conference adding schools in the near future.

Pac-12 officials are engaged in "active discussions" with Texas and Oklahoma about how to make the Big 12 schools' addition to the conference work, a source within the Big 12 confirmed to ESPN.com's Joe Schad.

Another source confirmed to Schad on Sunday night that Texas president Bill Powers met with Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott in Los Angeles this weekend.

Texas officials traveled to California to watch the Longhorns game against UCLA.

Do the conference titles have any relevance anymore? Why not rename them "Super Badass Football Conference #1!!!"
why not "Lame-Assed Conference East and Lame-Assed Conference Southwest"?
