All the Big 12 and Texas needs to do is replace CU with TCU and BYU.
BYU will add a lot of viewers. Salt Lake is a good size market, plus most Mormons traditionaly follow BYU similar to the Catholics and Nortra Dame. So you get a national audience. As for TCU, they will add some strength and more Fort Worth Viewers.

I read the thread quickly, 14, so if you responded to the fact it wouldn't be an automatic BCS every year, since OU will stay with them no matter what, I glanced over it.
If they go to the PAC 10, and there are two division (East and West) with 8 each, and each division gets an auto bid, then by moving to the Pac 10:
1) They make more money
2) They have actually have an easier road to the BCS

If Texas says no, the Pac-16 doesn't happen. That means the Big 12 has 10 teams left (maybe nine if Mizzou leaves). That alone is good enough to keep their autobid:
Baylor
Iowa State
Kansas
Kansas State
(Missouri)
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
Texas
Texas A&M
Texas Tech
That's still better than the ACC, and about half the time it's better than the Big East. And it would be easy as hell to add three and regain their title game, even without adding Texas schools. Air Force, Brigham Young, Utah. If Utah goes Pacific, settle for Boise State and enjoy a conference championship game.

No, I meant it wouldn't be automatic that they would get the bid, due to Oklahoma being in there. My fault for not being clear.

I bet they'd add Boise State or Utah, or both. I hate that damn blue field.
