The word on the street is that Oral Roberts and Houston Baptist will be added to the Southland. Houston Baptist will be adding football in two years.

Conference realignment has a ripple effect for everyone.

For a small conference the Southland is legit in baseball.

Is ORU planning on adding football as well? ORU should do well in both men's and women's basketball and baseball.

I'm familiar. ORU, in a much worse conference than the Southland, has been averaging only like 3 or 4 losses a year in conference over the last 8 years.

No they are being brought in for basketball and baseball I believe.

There could be a third team but it will have to have football.

ORU has regularly challenged themselves with a hard OOC schedule in baseball and given big schools plenty of difficulty. Just last year they played Texas, TCU, Arkansas Wichita State, Arizona State, San Diego State and Baylor during the regular season. They reached the TCU regional finals last year and knocked out both OU and TCU. They'll be a lot to handle in the Southland.

Yea they will come in and be the best team in the conference if these rumors are true. With Texas St leaving look for them to pretty much step into their spot and do extremely well in baseball.
