The story should read "UT would have gone to the PAC in 2010 if A&M agreed to come."
Not even horns can argue that.

Echoing the view of his men's athletics director, DeLoss Dodds, Powers downplayed predictions of megaconferences with up to 16 or 20 teams, asserting that economic and sociological forces point to an era of geographically organized leagues with about 10 teams apiece.
Either these guys are stupid or they are living under a rock. No way the SEC/Pac12/Big12/ACC EVER go to less than 12 teams.

As a FAN, of any Big 12 team including UT, I'd be livid about their apparant decision to remain at 10 and not have a championship game. It makes 0 sense.
It will hit them like a ton of bricks when, say this year, OU, LSU and Wisconsin all go undefeated...and the SEC/Big 10 championship games push LSU and Wisconsin to the National Championship.
It will happen one of these years.

It's more money. I would think that would be easy to figure out. OU will not be left out of the nation championship if they go undefeated. Their schedule is tougher without a conference championship than Wisconsin.
Even with a conference championship game, you can get left out of the big dance. Just ask Auburn.

I know that money is the ultimate reason for staying at 10...its the ONLY reason....but it sucks for fans.
And this season, OU likely wouldn't be left out. It isn't impossible in the future though. Conferences with a championship game have an advantage, even if slight.

I see your point. Hopefully for the sake of all fans a playoff happens in our lifetime. Play the game on the field, not in the court of public opinion.

Awe, come on man. We can't have Aggies and Horns drinking beer together. No beer summits on TD, only bloodshed.
Well, my younger brother is an Aggie so I know ALL of them are not bad..just most. Ex. Legacy Aggie.
