Notre Dame is not a hockey power.

Historically? No. Present day? It absolutely is. I think the national and CCHA success in recent years and this year's preseason No. 1 in the country ranking says ND is a definite hockey power now.

Two Frozen Fours, two CCHA championships, two CCHA Tournament championships, four NCAA Tourney apperances in the past five years.

ND does not have the pull in hockey the author thinks it does. ND hockey is an after-thought in college hockey.

I think these negotiations that just went down prove otherwise.

ETA: Do you consider Oregon a football power? ND's situation in hockey is very similar. I say the Ducks are.
