...about football.

I've lived out there. The attitude is MUCH, MUCH more lax toward athletics than it is in SEC and Big Ten country.

This isn't due to the athletics programs. It's a cultural attitude.

That, combined with later start times for games, is why the PAC-10 TV contract sucks. Adding the Big 12 teams won't change this.

I grew up in Washington St, football is an afterthought there compared to the SEC.

I can only hope the UT shorthorns get what they deserve and the Aggies do okay enough to become the better football program in Texas...that would be funny...(although I dont want the Aggies getting too good).

I agree!
I will make one prediction. If there is not a playoff system these mega conf won't last. How do you keep bcs tie in while killing a major conf?

I do look forward to the HUSKERS kicking some big ten arse!

I'm not saying the PAC-10 won't get a bigger TV contract with 5/6 of the Big 12 South on board. I'm sure they will. But once the pie is divvied out, I think that most of these schools will find that they could've made more money elsewhere.

I think Texas is better off going to the Big Ten. The US Federal reserve would probably let the Big Ten open their own mint if they land Texas or Notre Dame.

I lived in southern Cal for 5 years. A majority of the people rather go to the beach or play the newest RPG game than watch a college football game. Most of the adult males don't know what the Red River Rivalry is.
