aTm to the West

Arkansas State to the West(with them beating the aggies a few years back could be a interesting divisional rivalry)

Jacksonville State to the East( Cross divisional Rival to Ole Miss)

Virginia Tech to the East

Leave....serious. The SEC had better not invite you. Seriously, when is the last time your school had any athletic relevance? You're more fit for a mid-major. Adios faux Tigers.

WTF. Mizzou is usually ranked in Basketball and Football every season. They'd do better in football and basketball in the SEC over the Mississippi Schools

The worst part of all the expansion rumors is that now we have T A&M, Missouri, FSU, Clemson posters on Tiger Droppings.

It was bad enough already having the Arkansas and South Carolina fans talking about their great contributions to the SEC, now this.

It just makes this site MORE popular. Before ESPN even broke the aTm story, I did a yahoo search because I heard about the rumors on this site before anywhere else. Guess which site came up over ESPN in regards to the aTm move to the SEC, Tiger Droppings. Then the next day ESPN was all over the story, on their site, ESPN shows, etc.

Somebody the other day said Mizzou is just one of those nameless, faceless, brandless programs. I'd say that describes them pretty perfectly. I didn't even know they had a football program until a few years ago. It's not like I thought of them as a basketball school before then either, I just didn't think of them at all.

Actually Mizzou is competitive in the Big 12 in both football and basketball. Usually starts or finish the season in both sports ranked. They're currently ranked in the Top 25 for football. Don't know where they'd be ranked in basketball when the polls come out.

They've been to quite of bit of bowls. Somebody posted the stats on the SEC rant. Mizzou is pretty good in football. Out of the 100+ BCS teams Mizzou would probably rank 30-40 if not the Top 25 in football history. They're not a top program like a OU, Texas, Nebraska, LSU, FSU, Miami, etc. But they're not a weak program like a KU, K-State, Mississippi St, Vandy, Kentucky, etc when it comes to football. They'd fit in the middle pack.

Basketball is their bread and butter. NICE arena, built not too long ago. Would easily be one of the top arenas and atmosphere in the SEC in regards to basketball. Rivalry with KU in basketball is on a NATIONAL level. ESPN always shows the KU vs Mizzou game no matter if it's in Lawrence or Columbia.

In 2009 ESPN had Mizzou ranked 36th in all time CFB programs.

ESPNS all time rankings from 2009

They would not be competitive in football in the SEC. They would most likely finish in last place almost every year.

Arkansas owns them in basketball as well. I don't want Missouri getting in, A&M is one thing, this is a different level of shittiness.

So you're from Missouri right?

I'm not even a Mizzou fan. Member of LSU TAF for 12yrs. But I know Mizzou won't finish last in the SEC. They'd finish in the middle of the pack. If Mizzou join the SEC they'd get some good athletes. Columbia is a nice college town, situated between KC and STL on I-70. Great facilities, good size stadium, great booster support. They won't be some lil push over.lol. Bout to dig up their all time records vs other teams.

I'm well aware. Still, no one knows who the hell they are.

eta: And FWIW, their average attendance for % capacity in 2010 was 86%. That's good enough for 11th in the SEC.

Here's Mizzou's all time records against non conference teams they've played from the lil ole Big 8 and current Big 12 days. This lil ole Big 8 school done well against the SEC teams when they played them in the past for bowls and non conference games. In the Big 12 the only teams that whipped up on Mizzou would be Nebraska, Colorado, OU, and maybe Texas. Don't really watch much Mizzou football to know record vs Texas schools.

I know they've done well. My point is that you mention Mizzou and people go: "Mizzou...they're in the B12 right?...oh yea...".

True. When I lived in Kansas I had no idea about Missouri Football and it's program. Just knew of the school in basketball because of the rivalry with KU. Then football season in Big 8 Country you only hear of Nebraska, OU, Colorado, in the 90's K-State popped in the picture. On the news here in Joplin more of the focus is on Arkansas Football and Oklahoma football considering Norman and F'Ville are closer to us than Columbia. Bob Stoops even had a football show on Sunday Nights here in SWMO. They rarely mention Missouri Football.

LMAO, these are the only good teams in the Big 12. How is this any validation that they could compete in the SEC on a consistent basis?

ETA: My brother lives in Joplin. Hope the tornado didn't hit your house etc.

I'm ok but it got my brothers job while he was working and my Aunt and Uncle's house but they're all ok. Hope your bro is ok. Is he a Razorback. See a lot of Arkansas fans in this area. They even have specialty plates for Arkansas in Missouri. They look very nice, love the color scheme and design of em.

Yeah, they actually left for Mexico the day before it hit. Crazy thing is that he's a fire fighter and his wife is a nurse at the hospital that got demolished so they would've been right in the thick of it.

My brother was talking about getting that license plate this weekend.
