They are currently in the SCAC where there are two other teams called the Tigers.
This is OK because the SWAC sucks and nobody pays attention to it.

Yea they are in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) not the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) which are all black universities.

After Missouri applies, the person said that it expects “no problems” with gathering enough votes among SEC presidents to become a member.
This tells me one thing: Mizzou to the East.

I agree. I don't really care that much whether AU ends up going East. I would prefer it, but Mizzou to the SEC is the more important thing.
I just kinda enjoy the opportunity to call bama chicken.

Frankly moving Auburn to the east makes the most sense for leveling up the two divisions.
Yes I know it's going to cause problems, but at some point in time we've just got to let it go.
Have a coin toss as to which rivalry gets kept, Bama versus Tenn, or Bama versus Auburn and the other goes into the trash bin...for now. Hell I'll flip the coin and everyone who knows me knows how much I hate Tennessee and would love to keep them on the annual beating schedule. I can live with fate, or luck deciding.
Either the SEC must grow, and grow correctly which means the divisions making sense from a logistics standpoint for the teams playing in them as well as a balance point from the strength of the teams in them, or it will begin to die.

HFShoals I disagree, Mizzou in the east makes perfect sense really. This sets up perfect for a few years down the road getting okie state and Ou or get two east coast teams and then you put 8 teams in each Div.

You don't know where your next teams are going to come from. When you have them in place, then you adjust for what makes the most sense there.
If you want to add a team for the east that will strengthen it because you don't want to affect how the west is structured, add someone who will measurably improve the east, as I'm sure you would agree the east needs some shoring up.
Missouri is not that team.

quote:Maybe they won't shore up the SEC East or West, but it seems inevitable that Mizzou is heading in an SEC direction. WVU would have shored up things in the football dept. for the East, but apparently Slive saw $$$ and TV sets to be more important than football prowess. So we get Mizzou and not the Mountaineers this go-round. Maybe.
Missouri is not that team.
If so, welcome mizzou/sorry 'neers. We'll all adjust.
