There are possible embarrassing scenarios that could happen with a 13 team schedule breakdown.

Please elaborate.

I think enough has been said about Missouri officials, et al, wanting the B1G first. Which means the SEC is runner-up for at least some of y'all. But the SEC doesn't play second fiddle easily, or second-choice. Too much coyness to suit me from official circles. Too much like, "Oh well, there's always the SEC" kind of feel to this impending marriage to suit me.

I've not seen one quote from a curator, Mr. Deaton, Mr. Alton or any official in power at the University of Missouri ever say one thing about wanting to go to the Big 10. I've seen the Governor of Missouri who is an idiot by the way and hear some business owners in the St. Louis area were wanting it last year. But they don't speak for the University.

I don't doubt there may be a small faction of intellectual snobs that want that. But if you've seen more than the media speculation that has gone on for the last year and have some proof please elaborate. The whole quote from an anonymous source about wanting to go to the Big 10 but will settle for the SEC is seen as an attempt to undercut the SEC deal by one booster and start problems.

Please don't let that cloud your opinion. I'm pretty sure that most of the SEC presidents and AD's have talked to Missouri's people in power and probably asked them about that. I doubt Mr. Slive is dumb enough to go into something like this without fully discussing it with MU officials and being content that MU is fully committed to the SEC if invited.

My opinion is since Missouri is moving towards the SEC they're doing it because they desire to be there and plan on staying there and being a happy long time member of your great conference. If they truly wanted the Big 10 more than the SEC why are they moving to get to the SEC?

If they wanted the Big 10 more wouldn't it be more prudent to wait out the Big 12 as it will probably fall sometime in the next 5 years and then the Big 10 might be ready to expand by then. Besides all the Big 10 stuff was, is and always will be rumors an innuendo. All of it came from anonymous sources and if you knew the KC radio personalities that broke the news about it they aren't very reliable. Most of it probably came from a Big 10 blog speculation. And the one who did most of the talking is an Kansas State alum who isn't a fan of MU.

Until 21 days ago on October 4th Mr. Deaton didn't even have the right to even look for another conference.

Until Friday he didn't even have the right to sign a deal with the SEC.

It was even just a week or so ago that we were told that we didn't have the votes because Alabama and some others were holding out for fear of losing their rivalries if Auburn was moved and MU was in the SEC West.

As Mr. Deaton said there is no hold up on our end there are just lots of details to work out first. According to a tweet from the Dallas Morning new the hold up is the negotiations on the exit fee and about when they can exit. The Big 12 is trying to stick it to Missouri for choosing to leave. I've read they have even threatened lawsuits against MU for teams having to find another opponent to replace them on their schedule next year.

MrSEC site pointed out last night this has taken less time than the negotiations between SEC and Texas A&M. There are lots of things to do and it can't be done in a few days.

Mr. Deaton radio interview today explains it all.
