* Great confidence in viability of 10 team league
* Money numbers not guaranteed, they are projections based on discussions with tv people, a perceived collective value. No new contracts thus far. Will leave it up to Big 12 officials.
* Not a part of the financial discussions thus far about the special deals certain teams would get - some of this money stems from exit penalties expected from NU and CU
* Can't discuss Pac 10 negotiations - but they are great professional people

Texas and their Commissioner just made the MWC a better football conference than theirs.

Good to see that what we have all been saying about these numbers is indeed true. All talk.

And unless the Big 12 minus minus can either get two more teams or change the NCAA rules against sub-12 member conferences not having a championship game, no network with any sense is going to pay enough to cover the guaranteed $$$ that is being promised.

I recognize that not everyone is fond of the championship game format, but it is clearly a cash cow which in today's economics cannot be simply discarded without serious thought.

Who actually believed the media contract would be a hard fast deal done in 24 hours? I'd be suspicious if he said anything other than what he did.
