As long as everyone is making and demands and getting things rearranged, I would like to see a price extracted from Arkansas in exchange for being given Missouri as their cross-divisional rival--give up the Thanksgiving weekend game with LSU, so that A&M can slip into that spot. A&M vs. LSU on Thanksgiving night, under the lights. That would work for me.

You can't rearrange if you haven't yet arranged, aggie.

Now A&M gets to make that insanely long drive every year.

Both Houston and Columbia, SC are Southwest hubs.

TigerCub, do you have a link to your statement about LSU and Florida? If LSU did say what you stated, then the school that I have degrees from sound like chicken shite. I can't believe that the athletic department would be a pussy about playing Florida

No, LSU didn't say that. What someone at LSU said (maybe Alleva?) was that, with the addition of teams, permanent cross-divisional rivalries will likely end. We didn't make the termination of our annual game with Florida a condition of our vote for expansion, unless it was done very secretly, which I doubt.

So, all the pussies like Ole Miss and Vanderbilt, and Kentucky and Mississippi State get to keep playing. Lame arse wannabes like Arkansas and Mizzou, and A&M and USCe get games that either team (depending on which is worse any given season) could win. LSU and Florida are forced to continue our annual bloodbath.

Are you serious? Would you rather be playing Kentucky or Vandy every year as our permanent opponent? I know it cost us a division title in 2006, and it has cost Florida a handful of division titles over the years, but it is a great game to have every year. I became a fan of LSU football when my parents started bringing me to games in 1971, which was the first year of LSU's and Florida's current 40-year streak of playing each other every year (41 in a few hours). I've never watched an LSU season without a game against Florida in it. It'll be fine with me if I never do.

I supported adding A&M and Mizzou, but now regret it. LSU has gained absolutely nothing from this expansion.

LSU is gaining what everyone else in the conference is gaining. More revenue, more exposure.

A&M and Missouri have played a grand total of 11 times. Such a storied history between the two schools.

I know this (conference expansion/realignment) is about football, but I have A&M season baseball tickets. There never was a north/south split for Big 12 baseball, so we played Mizzou every season. Plus, I've been to three of our series in Columbia. I am used to thinking of Mizzou as a conference opponent. I was hoping since we are going into the SEC together that we would either be in the same division or be permanent rivals. It's really not that big of a deal for me though if we aren't.

So in the off years gumps play smokies as non-conference game if this game is sooooo critical to their programs.

Problem solved.
