Them's old bones, let's not dig 'em up.
If you believe that LSU is roughly equivalent to Northwestern State, then there was never any problem. The A&M/LSU series contract called for a "suitable replacement" if either side stopped the contract, and LSU offered up NW State.
In any event, two states can only sue each other in the Supreme Court of the United States, so it's a dead, dead, deal ... Texas was never going to sue Louisiana for a few hundy thou ...
