So how many thousands of miles from Austin to LA? We'll see how dedicated the Horn fan base is when it has to pay air fare to the coast every week.

Common mistake for Pac 10 fans to think this.........You see Texas is just moving the Big12 south and arizona and arizona state into the picture..........they probably won't play the west coast teams cause their division won't consist of them..........

Rarely will Texas have to make trips to the "other" division..........

I really don't care what Tx does. They deserve to be part of the west coast crowd.

Its a crock of shite...........basically Texas is conglomerating 2 8 team conferences IMO.........with no championship game this is gonna be the worst things for CFB.

It is basically still 2 different conferences without a championship. That is a crock of shite!

They are seperating themselves from their fanbase by going out West. How many of their fanbase can afford to travel that far every year. They would have to at least play two other teams from the North division so that would mean they would have to travel twice a year. And when it comes to the years that they play a Washington or Oregon team together with an Arizona team that means they would have to travel farther for those two teams than they would have to travel all year long with any two teams in the SEC. Can you afford to travel that far every year.

It will hurt their fanbase another way and that being the time zones, it is two hours difference between Dallas and LA that means your local news outlet will not be able to report on the games until they are over and then it will be to late for them to report on the games for their fans.

They haven't even made the move yet, who's to say that they won't implement a conference championship game? If they are smart, they will replicate the SEC model and only have to make at most 2 trips to the other division per year.
