Texas' Best Move

Keep C.Strong another year and.....
1. Offer Herman next year. If Herman wants Texas then he'll bail wherever he is at like Lane did to Tennessee when USC came calling
2. Find out if Herman is flash in the pan or legit once he takes over at LSU with that roster. No sense making another multi-year contract commitment to Tom Herman if he is basically Charlie Strong 2.0. Texas should have a sense of Herman's abilities with LSU's roster and schedule next year.
3. If Herman turns down LSU and stays at Houston (like he did to S.Carolina), it tells you even more that he's holding out for Texas anyway and provides more leverage next season.
4. Realize that if a 5-6 season in C.Strong's 3rd year wasn't enough to fire him at this point, why fire him based on the outcome of the TCU game? You can get Herman when you want him if he proves to be the coach that knocks off Oklahoma, FSU, and Louisville or if he is more the coach to lose to Navy, SMU, and Memphis.
