Jesus.

You have no concept at all how LSU is run. A dumb downed version of that concept is the athletics department is a division of a larger entity (LSU as a whole) who answers to the college president who on paper runs the show but in reality serves at the pleasure of the BOS who over saw the creation of the TAF who now has all of the actual real power, as they control all of the real money when it comes to coaches salaries.

Below all of that somewhere is AD Scott Woodward. His MAIN function on paper and in reality is to go balls to the wall increasing revenue, something he is actually damn good at. A secondary function, on paper, is hiring and firing coaches. In reality, when it comes to the higher profile positions such as the only two that are actual proftiable and not a cost center, football and mens basketball, those hires and everything associated along with them contract wise are handled entirely by the TAF and their lawyers.

Woodward may have "found" Kelly, and "hired" Kelly but its silly to think he had any say so whatsover on the contract terms given to Kelly.

Yet, you can be guaranteed to see 10-12 threads a day on this site such as this one screaming at clouds wanting to fire Woodward for being the cause of all those horrible contracts. When he is actually a middle management peon being propped up to take the shrapnel like this when shite hits the fan.

He did, but Ross Bjork gave him the extension of $95 mil for 10 years.
