The staff is the key to this hire. I've been a Sumlin fan before, and I fully expected to see him in a BCS conference before long. But being a part of the SEC means a different coaching strategy than we've seen from Sumlin to date.
You have to be able to play defense in this league. You have to be able to work the clock. You need depth, especially on the lines.
If Sumlin is as good a coach as I think he is, he will adjust. The only question is how long that adjustment will take.
