LSU and Mediocrity

I hope the rumors about Jimbo declining are untrue. And I hope that Alleva has in position to hire a coach worthy of the position of head coach of LSU. Yet, once again, with Larry Fedora's name floating tonight as a very real possibility (maybe even probability), so many are doing what we have mastered over the past several years: We talk ourselves into accepting mediocrity. We did it for the last several years of Miles' tenure here. Even in the past few months the same thing was happening with O. We have mastered the art of polishing a turd until it is seemingly edible (then we chew). Holistically, Fedora is a couple of hairs removed from mediocre (certainly relative to the position of head coach at LSU). Forgive me, just a bit frustrated.
