Horns247 has learned that Texas coach Charlie Strong is expected to either be fired or resign by no later than Saturday, according to multiple sources.
The Longhorns are currently in the 4th quarter, down 31-9 against TCU. With a loss, Texas will be 5-7 on the season and miss the post-season for the second consecutive year and Strong will be 16-21 during his three years in Austin.
Horns247 has also learned that Texas officials are hoping to interview Houston coach Tom Herman on Saturday.
Geaux247 has been told that LSU is down to Herman and LSU interim coach Ed Orgeron.
Herman's Cougars lost 48-44 to Memphis on Friday. The Cougars are 9-3 on the season with wins over Louisville and Oklahoma.
When asked whether Strong would not be the coach next year come Saturday, a Texas spokesperson merely said, "(I) don't know the answer to that one."
EDIT: Texas has lost to TCU 31-9.
