Would you rather us pay Les likes Bama pays Saban -- $4.45 million for 4th in the SEC West?

You win some, you lose some. With Jefferson and Lee, he lost. He's working on bringing in someone better.

Let's see. The only QB's he's had success overall with were not recruited by him. Hmm... Miles QB recruits:

RP = Fail (couldn't even last on the team long enough to start 3 games.
Jarrett Lee = Fail
Andrew Hatch = Fail
Jordan Jefferson = Fail
Chris Garret = Fail (didn't make it to his RS Freshman season)
Russell Shepard = FAIL (No shot at QB and moved himself to WR and has yet to throw a pass in 2 years)
Zach Lee = Fail (didn't even make it to his Freshman year with no backup plan)

Yup that means Miles' Win/Loss record on QB recruits is currently 0/6.

That's pathetic.

Les is not going to accept a new contract where he makes less money. Why would he? He makes $15 Million guaranteed over the next 4 years. I seriously doubt he's signing a new contract that guarantees him anything less than that amount in 4 years.

Les holds all the cards in this situation outside of a measly $1.25 Million buyout for Michigan.

If he had that, he would not need a new contract. He only has two years left on the current deal. He will probably get years added to the current deal.

always an exucse for Les. Poor Les and all his bad luck.

1) RP had character problems from the start and well before it got to that point.

2) Andrew Hatch was never going to have the arm strength to be an SEC quarterback.

3) JL and JJ aren't bad luck. They are both extremely poorly coached.

4) Chris Garrett - Yup, sure got a lot of time to prove himself.

5) Shepard - Not bad luck.

6) Zach Lee - stupidity on Miles part to put everything on the decision of one kid who may or may not go pro in baseball.

Yup, all purely bad luck.

He has at least $11.25 Million guaranteed AFTER this season according to the all knowing BelowPar. That means his contract ends in 2013. Even so, I seriously doubt he's giving up his $11.25 Million guaranteed if it isn't $15 Million.

There is no public record to indicate that his contract extends past 2012. He is a public employee. His contract cannot be kept secret. If someone produces a public record, then you can believe it.

Again, I am going by what BelowPar himself stated just a couple of months or less ago. If his info is as good as people claim, there is no reason to question that.

If it only has 2 years left, let him coach it down to 1 season left and THEN you can talk about an extension.

So either you are calling BelowPar a liar OR you are wrong.

FWIW TAF Is not a public organization and doesn't have to release what they pay les. The state does and he gets 300K From the state.

The term of the contract would be public record because the state portion is public record .

But the total compensation is contained in the contract.

Congrats to Les.No matter how much e get frustrated with him,he is a good caoch for the program.

He recruits his arse off
He makes staff changes when necessary and usually good hires.(will leave this to debate depending on what he does with Crowton)
Kids love playing for him
He wins
He's a great ambassador for the state of LA and the LSU program

Only morons are not happy with the job Les Miles has done since coming to LSU. More ten win seasons that any previous LSU head coach

This is very mis-leading due to fact for over a 100 years we played 9-10 games!!! But with the right OC it would be a good move.

My two cents:

It makes economic sense to give the man a raise in exchange for eliminating the 8 win, 1 yr. extension non sense.

The TAF is on the hook for the bulk of any future buyout, so rest assured that figure is not going to go up.

The recruitment violations involving the Hicks and McCarthy are likely being used as leverage.

Once the magnitude of the Rocket Scientist's contract for Miles was understood, it cost him his job.
