So we have a guy with such little class that he will jeopardize an SEC championship and a recruiting class? Just so that he can get a few bucks more? If that is the case, we should all want him gone.
I don't know Miles personally. But people, in general, are in a much better position to negotiate for more money when they have another job lined up than they are for being loyal. Besides, Miles' agent is probably running all of this for him anyway.

For the sake or argument, let's say that the UM job was not on the table. Let's say that a week before the SEC championship, Miles went to the press and the school and said "I am considering leaving after this year to take a different job." And let's assume that he (or his agent) did so in a laudable attempt to get a raise. Would we be angry, or would we just chalk it up to the good old American way of extortion? I for one would be PISSED.
Now admittedly Miles did not go to the press and the UM job triggered the events and speculation, but that in turn created both an opportunity and an obligation for him to do the right thing. I assume that he did the right thing: because of the negative impact he refused to admit that he will leave for UM, and because he is a stand up guy he refused to lie.
To me, this confirms what I have heard from inside UM. Miles is coming here. And I wish him teh worst for leaving. If he instead has no interest in leaving but just wants more money, he should be shot, hung, and then electrocuted. Particularly if we lose on Saturday.

Why does anyone think there is any way to "please everyone involved" in this process?....
1)There has been no public announcement made with any degree of credibility that Miles is actually the #1 choice for the job at UM... Miles stated in a press conf that such was the case...I choose to believe him...that could change with time, though.
2)Miles has never denied an interest in going back to Michigan if offered....that's why it's in his buyout contract with LSU, dummies.
3)To say that Miles is an a-hole who deserves to flame out and die in Michigan if he leaves is complete selfishness on the part of LSU fans....
IT IS WHAT IT IS, AND NOBODY CAN REALLY DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT UNTIL IT'S OVER AND DONE WITH....AND, MAYBE NO ONE WILL EVER REALLY KNOW WHAT HAPPENED (AND WHY) IF MILES DOES STAY...
WHICH COULD BE A GOOD THING FOR ALL INVOLVED!! SOMETIMES, THE LESS SAID AND KNOWN IS BEST FOR ALL CONCERNED!!

The trouble with this board is that people don't bother reading before responding. I can understand him leaving for UM and I never said otherwise. I do hope that Miles does poorly at UM, however, because (1) I hate UM and (2) I want Miles to regret leaving. He is an a-hole and should be shot IF he is jeopardizing the SEC championship and recruiting just to gain leverage in negotiating with LSU. My whole point, if you bother reading, is that I don't think that is the case and thus his refusal to deny interest confirms that he is leaving. And I hope that he flames out. Do you guys still root for Saban?
