Here was the quick fact sheet on Edwards:
btw, I doubt he would have been given an NFL DC job if he didn't know what he was doing at DC and it's got to be hard to be named DC when the guys in front of you are Campo, Marvin Lewis, Romeo Crennel, Chan Gailey and Jim Bates. That's like saying why didn't Tony Sparano take over as coach in Dallas? Oh yeah, because Bill Parcels was the coach.
If we were looking at NFL position coaches, what happened to Greg Mattison?

Misleading stat consisdering Spurrier Project in DC those years. Was living there at the time and Washington was horrid players were beginning to revolt against Spurrier. Take it for what its worth.

when he left UF I think he said he wanted to get the NFL pension. you never know though, he may miss the college game.

As for Edwards, it's better than what we had and I every great coach got their break somewhere. Not saying he will be great, but he's got a ton of experience from the best around so I'm on board the George Edwards train.
