Here's what I want to know. What was Coach O doing when LSU hired him as defensive line coach? (my understanding is that he wasn't in coaching at the time .... I don't know this for a fact.) Does anyone out there know?
Two: for those clamoring to hire O as permanent head coach now ... what would your reaction have been if he had been hired as defensive coordinator, instead of d-line coach? Because, if your reaction would have been, "no, he's not qualified to be coordinator," then, how in the world can you claim he's qualified to be head coach now?

That's been my argument. Why wasn't he a head coach somewhere else after USC? He had a better record than he did here and he best a good Stanford team. He didn't beat anyone with a pulse here. Would Houston take him when Herman leaves? Nope.

You don't know that. It's very possible they would. If Herman goes to Texas, I could see Major taking over, though. If it's Herman to LSU, hopefully Major comes with him.
