La Tech has improved over the last month. They've played the 3 of the 4 best teams in the conference and lost to a)SH State by 6 on the road; b)Jville St on a Hail Mary at home; and c)and then beat W Ky probably the best team on the road. And for the season, their widest margin of loss was by 10 at NC State. Whenever I watch them play they look terrible, but their results are better than how they look.
Tech has not improved. The defense has been good all season and the offense has been garbage.
Jeremiah Johnson at DC is the only reason Tech has won any games this year at all. He is the only reason. The offense is abysmal. Cumbie is a terrible head coach. He’s won 10 games in 3 years. The offense has regressed every year since he was hired. Recruits are decommitting left and right. Tech hasn’t won two games in a row since Cumbie was hired.
Jeremiah Johnson may have legitimately given Cumbie one more year. I hope for Johnson’s sake someone from a legitimate program picks him up.
I keep hoping a team blows us out and puts us out of our misery, but damn JJ’s defense is legit.
