Havent seen anyone comment on whether or not he called his own plays at Tulsa and Louisville. Although I'm sure he had a huge influence over the offensive philosophy, if he wasnt calling his own plays then the rankings arent really indicative of his capability.
I remember watching A&M play when he was there. Roughly 60-40 run to pass.
Most impt takeaways are:
- He and Miles clearly agree with the offensive direction, so our O shouldnt look so out of sync.
- He has a reputation for developing QBs, which is the opposite of Crowton.
- He is another recruiter for the staff, again the opposite of Crowton.

Half of the top offenses are shitty teams that are on offense a lot
Top 3 of SEC is a better bellweather.

I think you need to consider what level of players he was coaching. For instance, LSU has had top 10 talent on offense, and where have we been ranked the last three years?

Sure, of course that is taken into consideration. But you have to account for the weaker defenses and easier game planning he had as well.

....theirs probably not a single OC in the SEC that wouldnt thrive in the conference USA after a year or two.
yes "their" is. conference usa and the sec are entirely different conferences with entirely different talent levels.

If he can get us into the 30's like he's shown he can do, then LSU will be very tough to beat. These numbers just don't impress me very much, but I do like how he seems to improve the longer he is at somewhere. Problem is we need him to improve the offense dramatically in year one. Guess we'll see.
He's never had the talent LSU will provide him with. I'm sure he's thrilled to be on board at LSU.

And no triple digits in any of those years.
