I just started Book 3, Abandon's Gate. It's a little tough to get through them after watching the series. I'm trying to power through and get to some new material before the next season comes out. It's good so and just a little different I guess.
Question: Where do the titles of the books come from?

I started reading the books after season 2. Lickily made it to cibolo burn before last season so it was nice getting ahead. But damn they caught up quick with that season. Need to get back to reading regularly and knock it out and finally move on.
I've wondered that too about the titles.

Well, Abbadon is biblical in nature and refers to the Angel in charge of the abyss, so basically Abaddon's gate is referring to the gate in the book in an biblical reference.
Caliban's War probably refers to Caliban from Shakespeare's Tempest (who was a human/monster, so kinda similar to the proto-soliders from the book).
Cibola is one of the seven cities of gold. SO they are comparing the search for new habitable planets through the rings to the search for the lost cities of gold most likely.
Leviathan's are monsters from the deep in biblical terms, so the protomolecule is the leviathan from deep space waking up.
Persepolis was the capital of the Persian empire, so likely just referring the main antagonists building a new empire.
Babylon's ashes is probably just referring to the fall/lessening of power of Mars and Earth after the attacks and comparing it to the fall of Babylon.
Basically they are using a bunch of historical and Biblical references for their book titles.

I figured it was something like that but was too lazy to learn and do the research myself.

After talking about the books I went in search of show info and found this. A little surprised by the timeline. I'd be freakin thrilled if season 4 dropped in 2019.

As to when that will happen, “Hopefully, we are working toward having it on before the end of the year,” he said, later reiterating that the plan for The Expanse is to return before the end of 2019.

He confirmed that all series regulars are coming back, with the show also set to introduce new characters.
Will The Expanse be bigger and better on Amazon? “I may be biased, but it is definitely an expansive Season 4 of The Expanse,” he said.
The Expanse, from Alcon and the Sean Daniel Co, is one of the most well reviewed sci-fi series on TV, with the current third season scoring 100% on Rotten Tomatoes (vs. 95% for Season 2 and 76% for Season 1). Amazon picked the series up following a massive save-the-show campaign by Expanse fans in the wake of its cancellation by Syfy.

Just finished book 6
Will read 7 and 8 over the next few weeks.
Anyone know if book 9 will be the end?
Anyone read the short stories and novellas outside of the main series, are they worth reading?

There are 5 or 6 I think. Have not read them but I think they get deeper into the background of some of the characters.
There is one titled The Butcher of Anderson Station, obviously about Fred Johnson and one titled The Churn presumably about Amos and his time on earth

The couple that I've read were pretty decent. The Amos one is quite good.

Just finished Persepolis Rising and Tiamat’s Wrath this week.
Really like the way these last 2 books set up the finale. Really looking forward to the last book.
