Sister of SorrowsPosted by Ga Peach Tiger on 1/25/21 at 10:45 pm

Hey Book Board,
I wanted to share this awesome book with you guys that is set in Louisiana and full of Louisiana and LSU culture, legend, and lore.
A fictional memoir, Sister of Sorrows recounts one family's flood soaked, blood stained and relatively remarkable journey through the wilds of Southern Louisiana.
It also includes an untold chapter in America's most notorious counterfeiting scheme and the redemption of Billy Cannon.
LSU fans will enjoy this work.

Apparently there was another party involved and we learn a little bit more about Billy's loyalty...
Pretty cool, I thought. :)

Ok, got the book, read it. It is pretty cool. It's not an LSU book per se, but has some great fragments of LSU history and I enjoyed reading about Billy Cannon. Interesting stuff.
I'll give it 4.75 stars and definitely recommend.

So, you'd have to ask the author but the book reads like a memoir to me.
Kind of a family saga too but there are a lot of things/events and people in the book that I remember...

As far as I know, the author's dad was good friends with Billy Cannon and this story comes from conversations he had with his dad...

Amazon'd, I'll post my review in a few days. It was a little pricey but I don't mind paying for a really good book. We'll see.

Gilbert was a freshman at LSU this past season.
