I’m really excited about this book. Mark grew up down the street from me on Homestead Ave in Metairie. He was a sometimes buddy of mine, and he went off to lead a far flung life. This is his second book, and it’s great one. This is not just a good book; it’s good literature.
Mark chose a difficult voice in which to tell the story; it’s first person, but told to a third person, and it’s in a slight South Louisiana patois. Quite a challenge, but he pulls it off.
I expected it to be good, because his first book, Like Streams in Sand, was good, but this one is very, very good! I heartily recommend it.
