These two are great. Also as mentioned by others the Expanse series is good stuff.

A few more that I haven't seen mentioned in thread yet I don't think:
The Gap series by Stephen R Donaldson (first book is kinda meh, but the last 4 books are some of the best Sci fi space opera ever IMO)

Lord of Light by Roger Zelazny is one of my favorites, kinda a sci fi and fantasy mix.

Tuf Voyaging by George R R Martin is great for humor and Sci Fi.

Iain Banks Culture Series

Neal Stephenson- Snow Crash

The Vorkosigan Saga by Louis Master Bujold

William Gibson- Neuromancer

After seeing the positive reviews on the MTV Board I'm planning on reading "Altered Carbon" by Richard K. Morgan
