I have the newest Kindle Paperwhite and let my father borrow it recently to read something in large print that wasn't available in actual print. Due to the tapping the screen to change pages and a slight tremor he's developed he often got lost on what page he was on and would get frustrated.

Is there a way to turn the tapping off and just use swipe to change pages or would he do better with an older Kindle that had actual buttons? And if he did use an older Kindle is it wifi with easy downloads? Tia

I've got an old Paperwhite (7 yrs old) and it downloads fine with wifi. It has the buttons to turn pages.

I figured if out. For anyone else that may be wondering, if you are in a book you can tap the 3 dots at the top and turn off touch screen. It will still let you swipe to turn pages.

My mom was having similar issues. I got her a Kindle Oasis (I have one too) and she loves that it has physical buttons to turn pages plus it's bigger, higher rez and easier to hold.

Also, the ability change the backlight to a warm color is a very underrated feature if u read alot at night or in the dark.
