Do I read Icewind Dale Trilogy before Dark Elf Trilogy?
Does it matter?
Never read Salvatore, but always meant to.

Icewind Dale Trilogy first then Dark Elf Trilogy.
In Icewind Dale, Drizzt is one of the characters.
If you read Dark Elf first, you might be disappointed in Drizzt not having all of the spotlight in Icewind Dale.

Read them in the order they were written.
The Cleric Quintet was pretty good too.
Man, I haven't thought about these books on years. I may need to do a re-read myself. I don't remember exactly how far long in the series I got.

Read the Crimson Shadow series. I reread that probably once every two years.
Oliver Deburrows is one of my favorite characters in fiction, because I always think about how obnoxious he must look

Great books. They are absurd to describe the characters.
Edit: Salvatore was my favorite author for a good chunk of time. Despite most of his stories being in the Forgotten Realms rules, he does an excellent job of character development.
