Franklin Horton books

Any thoughts on the series by Franklin Horton? The books are post terrorist attack governmental collapse books. I just finished the Borrowed World Series and while not the best written, the story kept me interested.

Enjoyed the first couple, but lost interest around book 3.
I enjoyed The Way of Dan a bit better (also from Horton).. similar end of world vibes but a totally different character
