Any old writings on the Ark of the Covenant?

Like manuscripts by Jewish religious leaders on the ark or any other personal accounts? I’ve been trying to find some but the internet is not helping me one bit. Tia.

I believe the ark is mentioned by Josephus and in Maccabees. Beyond that, the only thing I can think of is the Ethiopian tradition that the Ark is in Ethiopia. That might be worth looking into.

I’ll have to look into that. I find it hard to believe that Jewish hierarchy didn’t record anything on the ark for hundreds of years. Usually th best knowledge is the one that’s hard to find.

Pretty sure ark not mentioned after Babylonian destruction of Temple. That Ethiopian thing is interesting though. Tough to find credible sourcing on it.

Ya that whole deal with them saying they have the Ark and only one man can see it is weird.
