[Art] Briles pulled the Bears out of the gutter and guided the team to its first outright conference championship in 33 years when it won the 2013 Big 12 title with a 30-10 win over the University of Texas on a freezing December afternoon in the final game at Floyd Casey Stadium.
“That’s exactly what it was — the storybook ending if you will,” said quarterback Bryce Petty, who led the Bears to the 2013 championship. “I think back to the history of the guys who played there. Guys like Jay Jeffrey, Walter Abercrombie and Mike Singletary, and the weight of those names. It was an honor to walk the same field.”[/youtube] (TheBigLead)
