ESPN is reporting that the New Orleans Pelicans and Kendrick Perkins have agreed to a one-year contract for the veterans minimum.

The Pelicans see a role for Perkins serving as a mentor to Anthony Davis, a source told ESPN.com's Royce Young.

Perkins, 30, will be playing for his fourth team after being a member of the Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Cleveland Cavaliers.
Perkins averaged 3.6 points, 4.7, and 0.6 rebounds a game last season.
