June 23, 20110 Comments
Former Detroit Pistons center Bill Laimbeer interviewed for the Piston's head coaching gig yesterday. The Pistons however, are determined to hire a former NBA coach. So far the team has interviewed former Atlanta Hawks coach Mike Woodson, ex-New Jersey Nets coach Lawrence Frank and Milwaukee Bucks assistant Kelvin Sampson. In 2002 Laimbeer led the WNBA's Detroit Shock to their first WNBA championship and was named Coach of the Year. Last year he was an assistant for the Minnesota Timberwolves who are suppose to fire head coach Kurt Rambis after the draft.
