“Shohei Ohtani didn’t win the Home Run Derby, but he still made a handful of Angels employees winners for his efforts,” wrote Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register.

“Ohtani received $150,000 for participating in the Derby, but he distributed that to around 30 Angels support staffers to thank them for their work, sources said. Ohtani distributed checks on Friday to trainers, clubhouse workers and media relations staffers.”

It’s a shame baseball has fallen in popularity with the length of games and style of play. But you have one team with 2 throwback players. Mike Trout is basically modern day Mickey Mantle and Shohei Ohtani is doing his best Babe Ruth impersonation pitching/hitting. But you never see MLB talked about like Football or Basketball in like 18 years. Anyways, Shohei seems like a good dude. Would like to see them have a nice playoff run.
