During the Cubs vs. Dodgers game Tuesday evening, 29-year-old fan Keith Hartley made this amazing one-handed grab while feeding his 7-month-old son...

Hartley told the Chicago Tribune...
quote:

“I’m just trying to protect him (Isaac),” “This one was a little easier, a pop fly. Just kind of a reaction. It just came to me.”
However the play was overturned because of fan interference at the ending of the inning.

If the fans reach out and intercept a ball like this guy did, it should just be a foul ball. Home field advantage. If they slap his glove or something, then fan interference. They should make the same rules as PI in football.

Great catch, tho.

That kid will likely have that ball the rest of his life. Will be a cool story to tell his grandkids someday.

Fans should be able to rob the opposing team of outs.

I love baseball but their whole "fan interference" crap is nonsense. If you don't want fans to be that close, change the stadiums or something. Nothing looks worse than when fans/players of the team you support turn on you because you "interfered".

Stupid by baseball, not the fans.
