The LSU Football team returns to the practice field today with the first of 15 spring practices that culminates with the annual spring game on April 18.

The Tigers will practice 15 times over the next five weeks. The spring game is set for Saturday, April 18 at 5 pm CT in Tiger Stadium.

LSU finished last year's disappointing season with a resounding 38-3 victory over Georgia Tech in the Chik-Fil-A Bowl. The Tigers will look to improve upon last year's 8-5 record when they open the 2009 season on the road at Washington on September 5.

In LSU Baseball news, the baseball team rallied from a 8-1 deficit against UL-Lafayette to tie the game at 9-9 in the bottom of the eighth inning. But ULL first baseman Scott Hawkins blasted a solo homer in the top of the ninth to give the Cajuns a 10-9 win at Alex Box Stadium.

The Tigers fell to 11-3 on the season and will host Kentucky for a three game series this weekend. First pitch on Friday is at 7pm CT.

In LSU Basketball news, the Tigers (25-6, 13-3) return to action as the top seed in this week's SEC Tournament at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, FL. LSU will play Kentucky or Ole Miss at noon CT on Friday, March 13.
