LSU Basketball Jumps to No. 11 in Coaches Poll; No. 12 in AP

Fresh off hard fought victories over Florida and Kentucky this past week, the LSU Basketball team was rewarded with higher rankings in the latest Top 25 polls released today.
LSU moved to No. 11 in the latest Coaches Poll and to No. 12 in the latest AP poll. The Tigers moved up from No. 18 in both polls.

The Tigers, who clinched the SEC title outright with the win over Kentucky in Lexington, return to action on Wednesday when they face Vanderbilt in the PMAC. Tip-off is at 7pm CT.
LSU guard Marcus Thornton was named ESPN.com Player of the Week for his performances against Florida and Kentucky. Thornton averaged 27.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the two victories.
