The LSU Baseball team (17-5) returns to action tonight when they face Harvard (2-11) at Alex Box Stadium. The game, which will be televised by CST, starts at 6:30pm CT. Tonight's game is the first of a two-game series against the Crimson, with the second game scheduled for tomorrow at 6:30pm CT.
LSU is now ranked No. 2 by Baseball America on the strength of victories last week over Northwestern St. and McNeese St., and taking two of three from South Carolina on the road. LSU has won six straight conference series, dating back to last season.
LSU is one of four SEC teams ranked in the Top 25: Georgia (6th), Ole Miss (11th) and Arkansas (14th). Click here to view the Baseball America Top 25 poll.
In other LSU Baseball news, pitcher Matty Ott was named SEC Pitcher of the Week by the league office.
Ott earned a win and two saves in four appearances last week, recording 6.1 shutout innings while allowing just one hit. He struck out 10 batters while recording no walks, and opponents batted a mere .050 against him.
In Women's Basketball news, the Lady Tigers will play the third-seeded Louisville Cardinals tonight in the second round of the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The game, which tips-off at 8:30pm CT, will be televised on ESPN2.
