LSU moved up six spots to No. 12 in ESPN's latest College Football Power Rankings following Saturday's dominant 38-17 victory over Auburn.

ESPN praised LSU's recent improvement on offense, highlighting the return of tight end Trey'Dez Green, the running of Dilin Jones, and quarterback Sam Leavitt's impressive performance against Auburn.

The Tigers now enter their bye week before hosting Alabama on November 7 in a crucial SEC matchup.

The Tigers are peaking at the right time, dominating their past two opponents -- Mississippi State and Auburn -- to the tune of a combined score of 69-17. The return of standout tight end Trey'Dez Green adds to what's becoming a dynamic offense for LSU, balancing out the hard running of tailback Dilin Jones. Quarterback Sam Leavitt carved up Auburn's defense, going for 385 yards and three touchdowns passing and 54 yards and a touchdown rushing. LSU and Lane Kiffin now get a bye week to rest up and reset for what promises to be a daunting final stretch that begins with Alabama in two weeks and continues with Texas and Tennessee. -- Mark Scarborough
