Ross Dellenger with The Advocate is reporting that LSU and Wisconsin have sold a combined 50,000 tickets to the Sept. 3 season opener at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI.

According to the report, both schools have sold 20,000 tickets and another 10,000+ tickets have been set aside for Wisconsin students and “university needs.”

Wisconsin was allotted 40,000 tickets for the game and sold 20,000 during an initial request period for donors and season ticketholders that ended April 30. A second request period, for the remaining 9,000 tickets, started Wednesday and ends Tuesday, the school announced.

LSU was allotted 20,000 tickets to the game. The school hit 20,000 requests last week but is working on acquiring additional tickets, said Brian Broussard, in charge of ticket sales and operations at LSU. Requests are being taken through May 31.

The Packers are responsible for the rest of the tickets (about 15,000-20,000) at 80,000-seat Lambeau Field.
